Don't believe the hype! This place is dead, have visited at weekends and only 2 other guys on their so-called busiest day. Avoid

Only about 3 weeks old and already pulling in the guys, I was lucky enough to get sucked off my 3 younger guys in the steam room and then another guy in the hot tub. The place itself is very clean, friendly staff and wonderful facilities. When comparing it to Village sauna which is about 5 minutes away from this one you can see a huge difference and this one will be a winner every time. Many thanks for a great sauna in a great city.

Wow, what a place. Bristol has needed a great sauna for many years and this one is a welcome addition. Well worth a visit. Village sauna on Old Market/West Street has failed in cleaning itself up and this one will certainly be taking many customers from them.

I'm actually here right now. I'd give is 10stars but it is a little empty.... ah what the hell. 10/10. First sauna so a few nerves cute kid on the door. A quick list of facilities then straight ino the hot tub. With so few people I thought I was going to miss out but hurrah, a skater from Southampton in the sauna room. Quick chat and upstairs to the glory holes for a little fun. Nipped into a private room and f*cked. Very nice. :-) This place is very clean..... VERY clean. Relaxing first time though I would've enjoyed a cinema room and a little hardcore porn. I will be back again if only to unwind from a long day at work. I should note that the word has spread about how high quality and new this place is. All rumours to that effect are confirmed.

Edit to last post. Just as I was about to leave, another guy came in. Jumped into the hot tub with him. Some touchy feely fun then up to a private room to..... POP my cherry. What a great f*ck. We both came, cleaned up and went our separate ways.

This was one of the most boring sauna visits I ever made. First off the location is bad: it is not far from the gay area of Old Market in Bristol, but it remains in an industrial estate. Yes, it is next to a builders merchant and a place that repairs buses. When "relaxing" on the terrace you can while away the day listening to trucks driving in and out of yards. Hardly relaxing. Truly this is the weirdest venue for a sauna ever. I arrived around 12.30. I left 1 hr later. I saw 1 other customer there. The sauna is tiny; the steam room tinier and the hot tub ("hot" being a loose term for it, the water was just warm) could fit no more than four blokes. In its defence it was spotlessly clean and the guy on the door was very friendly. Not surprising really: I think he was just pleased to see someone actually walk through the door. Won't be going back.

I went to this new Sauna on the 7th of August around 6.45 h. The front door was open and on the next door there was a sing: "Please ring this bell". I rung various times. I waited around 10 minutes because at times it seemed to me that I heared footsteps. I even knocked at the door. Than I left. What is going on in this place?

This gay sauna was regarded as a welcome alternative in Bristol to the Cottage Sauna when it opened in May 2013. Since then I have been there many times opened but unfortunately it has been neglected by the owners. It has now gone downhill to the point where I would rather drive 40 miles to a decent gay sauna in Newport or Swindon, than go to Elite Retreat again. Elite Retreat is extremely badly managed. As examples, the soap dispensers are frequently empty, towels are not collected; the staff are far more interested in playing their choice of music too loudly than create an atmosphere to suit the customers. Inside the premises are untidy, dirty and mouldy. Much of the floor is covered in blotches of paint. A few months ago I emailed the management to complain about the state of the place – the lavatory doors, the endlessly dripping shower next to the Jacuzzi, and the soaking roof top Astroturf which was so waterlogged that the flat roof below it must have been close to collapse. The result was zero response. No reply. Even now, two of the three toilet doors do not close properly, and the middle shower still sticks on. Recently the web site announced that Elite Retreat would be closed for a few days for improvements. When it reopened the Jacuzzi was not working. It did not work at all for a month. The management make almost no attempt to contact their customers; we were never told via the website or social media that the steam room was going to be closed over two weeks ago, but last time I visited it was. Today I asked if everything was working and was told that it all was except the steam room, which is still not working after 3 weeks. The guy on the door lied; the Jacuzzi is still not working properly; 2 of the four air pump controls do not operate as they should. When Elite Retreat first opened, the Sunday buffet used to be very nice. It included Sushi! It still includes fruit, which is nice but the sushi has been replaced by tasteless white sandwiches, which are clearly made from the cheapest materials. You cannot tell by colour or taste whether you are eating ham or cheese. Even the web site is appalling. It is bland and misleading; the Twitter link is incorrect. Once you find it, you will see that the correct Twitter page has not been updated since May 2013. The Facebook page has not been updated by the proprietors since May 2014. It wrongly states that Elite Retreat is open 24 hours. Two extremely negative reviews were posted on it on 14/1/15 by other customers who have also had enough of the place. I suspect they will be deleted by the owners.

I visited this sauna just before Christmas but have only just got round to signing up. The place looked pretty run down with, the steam room wasn't working and the shower/hot tub room was so dark i could hardly tell it was there! As someone already posted the doors on the toilets don't work too. Upstairs was generally clean with a good choice of magazines and a pool table. It wasn't very many people there at the time, maybe around 6 or 7 but managed to get a BJ so it wasn't all bad!

DISGUSTING NEVER GO. ME AND MY PARTNER HAVE NEVER BEEN SO INSULTED. THE DRINKS ARE OVER PRICED, THE STAFF ARE RUDE AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS HORRIBLE. I WOULD NOT SPEND ANOTHER SECOND IN THAT SMELL LITTLE DUMP

When this sauna opened a few years ago it was a very welcome addition to the Bristol scene especially as the cottage had deteriorated quite a lot. When you go in you go through the lounge to the back room where you get changed then doubling back on yourself there is the sauna, steam room, the showers and hot tub on the ground floor with glory holes a few private rooms, a sling and the outdoor area. On the face of it this should be excellent however it is usually touch and go whether all of the facilities are working. On my last visit there was a female member of staff working which to say the least was massively offputting. The place has been allowed to deteriorate in terms of the decoration and it really isn't a very pleasant place to while away an hour or two. Suffice to say the word has got around and the crowds have dwindled. There is nothing more sad than being one of only two or three people throughout the whole building and I cannot see a reason why I would return.
